DESCRIPTION

The new 187,500 SF School of Law for the University of South Carolina is a focal point for the legal community in the state as a home for legal research, continuing education and public outreach. The multi-story, state-of-the-art law library is highlighted by a signature reading room overlooking the courtyard. With sophisticated technology, the auditorium, classrooms and event spaces will serve the needs of the students, faculty, alumni and community well into the future. The School of Law complex encompasses an entire city block in downtown Columbia.

DESCRIPTION

The Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina is US News and World Report and Bloomberg Businessweek’s top ranked International Business Program for public universities. The 260,000 square feet LEED Platinum, and ultimately Net Zero Energy building, houses the Darla Moore School of Business and a 500-seat auditorium that is also be home to portions of the University of South ‘s School of Music. This state-of-the-art facility that houses more than 35 classrooms with a total of 2,554 classroom seats, 40 meeting rooms and project spaces, multiple rooms equipped with advanced distance learning and collaboration technology systems, 136 faculty offices and space for more than 100 Ph.D. students, a 250-seat lecture hall, a 500-seat auditorium, an onsite Café, electronic trading room, and areas for individual and group study. The project also includes rooftop pavilions and gardens around a center courtyard.

DESCRIPTION

The $45 million dollar project entailed a revamp of the 45-year-old, 194,000 square foot former Law Center to make room for modern classrooms and science labs. The building is utilized for the growing demand for science, technology, and engineering majors at the university. The renovations will allow for a full hazardous materials abatement, utility upgrades, furniture, technology, and room resizing to accommodate the growing student population.
